how to save time at workplace

NO matter who you are and what you mean to your company, you only have 24 hours a day.

Here is a neat guide to help you save more time at workplace and be more productive at workplace.

1. Keep your desk clean, and things in proper place. Keep a pen and few white sheets in your desk. Also have a spare pen.

2. Use stick ons to remind you of your tasks and more importantly fill your stick ons. Make it a routine to list the tasks for the day, as the first thing in the morning.

3. Note down the activities you do on a day on a hourly basis. This will help you identify the tasks and times where you waste time or do things slowly. Avoid doing things that take up a lot of your effective time. In other words, get it done by some body else.

4. Identify your prime time. Some people work more productively in the mornings and some are nocturnal. Identy your prime time and try to spend time in your prime time.

5. Avoid too many short breaks, they disturb the flow of work. Also when you take a break, do not just keep elongating the break time. It is desirable to keep your break time short. Five minutes should do fine.

6. Carry your coffee mug to your desk, and remember to keep it in a safe distance.

7. Carry a water bottle and fill it up first thing in morning and also just after lunch. Keep it at your desk.

8. Avoid silly talk with people at work time, you can always talk during lunch or on your way back to home. there are some people, who do nothin, but travel desk to desk, chatting. You can always say “Dear joe, i ll talk to you more on this later”, which is better than “i am busy right now” or “please do not disturb”.

9. Avoid signing into instant messaging. There are always some people, who hang on the internet, looking for people to come online. At least, stay in invisible mode.

10. Have motivational writings or posters at work. They do give some boost.

11. Have your computer in proper health.
