how to speed up your computer

Being more productive at work is a important target, for people who chase success. The people who achieve this target, are the ones , who will achieve success also.

Last week, we had given out a guide on how to save more time and be more productive at office.

Here is another point in the guide, which states that “keep your computer in good health” . You do not have to waste time looking for files and folders or seeing your computer crash so often.

  1. Avoid using windows. try a mac or linux. I am sure, this will save a lot of your time.
  2. If the above point works, you no longer need this guide, else continue
  3. Keep your desktop clean, avoid too many shortcuts. Proper branching of folders is required.
  4. Keep a separate folder for set up files, you will never know, when you will need it. When ever you download or copy a set up file, put this file int his folder.
  5. Use a standard anti virus program, here is a small list, pick one from this anti virus list.
  6. Keep a backup network cable and a power chord in your desk.
  7. Remove programs that you are not going to use that often from the startup. This besides bettering your startup time, also improves performance.
  8. Use software that allows tabbing. Like firefox, CRT, and more. This will keep your programs organized.
  9. Use desktop notes, and fill them up. You may like to try this program. sticky notes
  10. Use shortcuts and bookmarks effectively. If you see that you are using a program almost everyday, bookmark it. Also, pile up bookmarks - like - a set of three programs, which you will use every morning. You can then say - open all in tabs. Also have a backup of your bookmarks online. try google bookmarks or delicious.

If you want to add something here, you can gladly do so. Let me know via comments.
